Talking all things Kratom with Kelly Dunn CHPodcats Ep. 25

Kelly Dunn is the owner of Urban Ice Organics. It’s the fastest growing Kratom company in the country and for good reason. They lab test all of their products and they adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices. Urban Ice Organics is the only brand that I trust.

https://naturalorganix.com

We talk about the science and safety of Kratom, the current state of the Kratom industry and the personal reasons why he produced the documentary “A Leaf Of Faith”.

Kelly discusses why he uses Kratom, the growing number of people who are using it to improve their health and wellbeing and why its important to keep Kratom legal.

Kelly is doing a lot to keep Kratom legal and to find out the truth about it. He supports the Scientific Research on Kratom by the University of Florida and he’s working on a sequel to “A Leaf of Faith”. I firmly believe that the documentary “A Leaf Of Faith” played a huge role in helping to keep Kratom Legal.

You can check out A Leaf of Faith on Netflix, you can purchase a DVD of the documentary or watch it on iTunes.

The secret Corporations driving up healthcare costs, causing drug shortages and preventing Innovations with Philip Zweig CHPodcast Ep. 21

Phillip Zweig joins us to talk about the secretive, massive, and corrupt Group Purchasing Organizations that drive up healthcare costs, decrease medical innovations and cause critical drug shortages in the United States.

http://www.philliplzweig.com

Phillip Zweig is an award winning financial journalist who is now the Executive Director of Physicians Against Drug shortages, which is a grass root group of physicians and other healthcare professionals working to end  drug shortages in America by lobbying Congress to repeal the 1987 Medicare anti-kickback “safe harbor” provision. This ill-considered statute exempted GPOs from criminal prosecution for taking vendor kickbacks and undermined competition in the generic drug/ healthcare supplies industry.

The current healthcare system is a mess because of the interference of government into the voluntary transactions between healthcare providers and individuals seeking to improve their health and wellbeing.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons has been fighting for medial freedom since 1943. Its motto is “All for the patient”.

Many doctors and almost all patients are extremely unhappy with the current medical system. We talk about the practical solutions patients can take to help lower their healthcare costs while still pursing their best option for improving their health and well-being.

Unfortunately, the solutions being pushed by those who benefit from the government’s intervention into the healthcare industry (Which include the corporate media who receive Drug Company Advertising dollars, The Massive Drug Companies, The Insurance Companies and Large Hospital Groups, and Massive Government Bureaucracies -like HHS, Medicare, FDA, CDC and the DEA) will only cause more of the problems that they are supposed to fix.

The Direct Care Model of Medicine is one great example. Learn more here:

Dr. Singleton breaks down why Medicare for all is a terrible idea and why when people talk about Universal Healthcare – what they are really talking about is rationing healthcare for all.

http://www.theconservativepundit.net/2019/02/jumping-into-medicare-for-all-with-eyes-wide-shut/

The current regulatory environment coupled with the mounting power of insurance companies and Medicare are destroying the doctor patient relationship, forcing many doctors to retire and creating a more expensive and less effective healthcare system for all.

Fixing healthcare with Blockchain tech Dr. Leah Houston

Dr. Leah Houston is our guest today. She is currently an Emergency Room doctor and co-founder of a company that’s applying blockchain technology to help fix healthcare.

https://chronicallyhumanpodcast.castos.com/podcasts/1284/episodes/fixing-healthcare-with-blockchain-tech-with-dr-leah-houston

She is co-founder of Hepac.io which is a tech company that helps doctors to create self-sovereign identies on the blockchain. This helps to reduce costs, prevent fraud and put the control of a doctor’s identity back into their hands.

We discuss why centralization of healthcare is a threat to everyone’s privacy and pockebook and how decetnralization can put the power back into the hands of the people.

Dr. Houston and I discuss the history of Bitcoin, what is the blockchain, what are self-sovereign identities and how these technologies can cut healthcare costs, increase access and improve outcomes.

We also talk about the problem with third party payers and how along with burdensome regulations are causing doctors to burn out, quit their practices or even commit suicide.

Dr. Houston also relates why there is a doctor shortage and what can be done to fix it.

She belives that decentralization is one of the keys to fixing the healthcare sytem and helping to empower the individual to choose for themeslves how they improve their health and wellbeing.

You can find out more about her private pracrice and her Blockchain Healthcare company HPEC.io below:

Chronic Pain, Pain Medicine and the Opioid Crisis – Ed Coghlan CHP Ep 14

Ed Coughlan journalist and editor of the National Pain Report joins us today. He covers the story about how the response to the opioid crisis is hurting many chronic pain patients. During our conversation we cover the political as well as the personal side of pain in America.

You can listen to our conversation here:

Chronically Human Podcast Ep 14 Ed Coghlan with National Pain Report

This is a very personal issue for me. I’ve been in chronic pain for over thirty years and I’ve definitely been affected by the current opioidphobia that’s gripped the nation. So I’m very grateful for Ed’s work and his perspective on this issue.

Ed does an amazing job over at the National Pain Report covering the news concerning pain, practical ideas that can help those in pain and giving a platform for people in pain to share their stories. We discuss the state of the pain community advocacy efforts and what can be done to help change the draconian and in some places, like Oregon, absolutely barbaric policies surrounding the treatment of pain.

During out talk we also touched on how the true enemies of those in pain aren’t people with addiction, doctors or people who advocate for alternative therapies but those who are lobbying the government to make it extremely difficult or in some cases impossible to get effective opioids to treat their pain.
Personally I advocate for the total separation of Medicine and State and that individuals have the right to consume what they choose. But as Ed said during our conversation the world has changed since the current opioid crisis started and that’s the reality we have to deal with. The question is now how can we gain back some of our freedom lost during the last few years, and once again to choose, along with our doctor, how best to ease our pain.

We also do talk about how underrated pain can lead some to contemplate suicide or actually take their own life. If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts please reach out to friends and family or contact https://samaritanshope.org and you can also call or text them at 1-877-870-4673.

If you are in pain or know someone who is or you want to educate your friends and family about what the issues are surrounding politics, pain and how we can help those in pain suffer less, please check out and share our conversation.

After listening to the conversation head over to

Chronically Human – Episode 004 – Dr. Thomas Kline – the unseen side of the opioid debate

Thanks for checking out the blog for the Chronically Human Podcast, where we have conversations aimed at creating a world with more freedom and less suffering.

Our guest today is Dr. Thomas Kline. He has been practicing medicine for over 40 years, but now retired, he worked at Harvard Med, trained at Stanford and for the last year and a half has been advocating for pain patients who’ve been negatively affected by the War on Opioids.

You can check out our conversation by following this link:

Millions of Chronic Pain patients are being left behind and forgotten in the rush to demonize opioid pain medicine, not because everyone can become addicted but because everyone doesn’t know the facts.

If you know anyone of the 6.5 million people with chronic pain who have been forced to taper their pain medicine, been forced onto less effective and more expensive alternatives, or have been refused treatment, please watch and share this video.

Dr. Kline was on six months ago and he breaks down for us what has been going on since then, with pain patients, doctors and the law.

We talk about the religious like hysteria being created surrounding opioids and how the facts don’t support the rampant fear.

He also explains what” Fear of Addiction Phobia” is all about and how it’s the main driver of the wasteful and draconian edicts being pushed by the Medical and Media establishment.

People are suffering unnecessarily because of fear and ignorance. Dr. Kline is doing the Lord’s work getting the facts out to people and pushing back against the insane, barbarous and unacceptable way the Media and Medical Establishment are punishing a population of people, whose only crime is that they are in intractable

Take aways:

  1. The Fear of Addiction Phobia is driving the hysteria not the facts.

2. Opioid Addiction is a Type II Addiction which is a genetic disease.

3. The more accurate term is Chemical Receptor Disease.

4. Only 4 out of a 1000 people have the brain receptor deformation that leads to opioid addiction.

5. The lies about opioids and addiction are having disastrous results for the 6.5 million people who rely on pain medicine to live

6. Doctors not law enforcement should be practicing medicine

7. Doctors are frighten to lose their livelihood or even their freedom and so many are choosing not to alleviate pain because of the potential liability.

8. The opioid epidemic is really an overdose epidemic in the addiction community – black market adulterated heroin with fentanyl is the main cause

9. People without the genetic malformed brain receptors can not develop opioid addiction no matter how long they are on pain medicine or in what amounts they are prescribed.

10. The FDA is the only legal authority to tell doctors what they are allowed to prescribe and not the CDC. The 90 mg CDC guideline isn’t legally binding. Doctors have the authority to prescribe any FDA medication including pain medicine, in any amount they decide is appropriate.

11. The addiction industry is not regulated and it takes in $35 billion a year

12. People being prescribed chronic pain medicine isn’t the cause of the so-called opioid epidemic.

13. Millions of chronic pain patients are being forced to taper, because of the belief that they are the cause of the overdose deaths, without their consent, forced onto more expensive and less effective medicines, or refused treatment all together.

14. When people in chronic pain don’t have access to opioids (which have been used for 5000 years) they have three choices:

a. Go to the black market, take adulterated heroin, die and be a headline on the evening news

b. Try to exist with the pain, which is so bad you can’t take care of yourself or those you love. That’s not much of an existence. That leaves the third option.

c. Suicide – unfortunately the war on opioids has led to the unnecessary deaths of people in chronic pain who were refused cheap effective medicines that would have kept them alive and functioning but due to the opioid hysteria they were denied treatment and had no other solution. If you want to cry read Dr. Kline’s article about suicide and chronic pain:

The Federal Government is spending $6 billion of your tax dollars on many misguided efforts which won’t help, that includes a $1 billion for an opioid vaccine – which can’t work.

Dr. Kline does offer solutions which include – more education for high school students – 75% of addiction starts in high school. Tell the kids that if they take an opioid and zoom to the moon be aware they most likely have the genetically caused malformed brain chemical receptors and they need to tell someone fast before it spins out of control.

https://medium.com/@ThomasKlineMD/the-opioid-refugee-crisis-causes-and-recommendations-revised-10-31-18-89559573eb86

Doctors treating those who’ve never take pain pills have a responsibility to tell the Opioid patient the exact same thing. If you experience an insane euphoria when taking the first pill call the doctor immediately – that is an indication that someone is the 4 in a 1000 with the physical chemical receptor deformation that leads to Type II opioid addiction.

Prohibition doesn’t work. Addiction and chronic pain should be left to the doctors. The War on Drugs has cost $1 trillion dollars since the 70’s. It was ramped up by Nixon to target his political enemies, the black community and the anti-war movement. It has imprisoned millions, killed hundreds of thousands at the border, killer hundreds of thousands with black market adulterated drugs, and cause millions of pain patients to be denied compassionate medical care.

Today the media, the government and the Medical Establishment are peddling complete falsehoods about opioids which are in fact miracle drugs, like all things they do carry some risk. But that risk is nowhere near what the media is telling us and that risk can be managed effectively and intelligently without taking away a life saving medicine from millions.

Without opioids every human on Earth would be at the mercy of physical pain without any hope of reprieve, unfortunately millions of chronic pain patients are experiencing that very hell today.

A huge thank you to Dr. Kline for giving us his time and his continued efforts to correct the lies being told about opioids, pain patients, doctors and addiction.

Chronically Human Podcast 001 with Dr. Thomas Kline – the other side of the so called “opioid crisis”

Dr. Kline and I had a fantastic conversation and we hope to have him on again very soon. We talked about how we got to where we are today with the “opioid crisis” and solutions for helping people with chronic physical pain as well as those with biologically caused opioid addiction.

You can listen to our conversation here:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NbElpL14fy4&t=2232s

Dr. Kline has dedicated his life to healing. He has been a doctor for 42 years, he did his residency at Stanford, and has worked at Harvard Med as well as Boston Children’s hospital – he now resides and runs his own practice in North Carolina.

You can follow his work on Medium.com

https://medium.com/@ThomasKlineMD

And on Twitter

@ThomasKlineMD

One of the main topics we covered was surrounding how much misinformation, deceptive information and out right lies being peddled by those whipping up the masses, which in turn, is causing widespread and unwarranted fear. Dr. Kline is currently focused on eliminating that irrational fear, which is propelling the current war against pain patients, by educating the public, doctors and legislators about the truth concerning opioids.

Dr. Kline explained the biological mechanisms for addiction. He factually broke down the differences between addiction “A” disease versus addiction “B” disease – which is the type that those with true opioid addiction have. It is a receptor polymorphism (deformed receptor) and 80% of people with addiction “B” are exposed to opioids in high school.

Those without the misshaped receptors don’t take the “magic carpet ride” when they take opioids, unlike those with the physical elements that cause addiction “B” experience.

He went all the way back to 1915 and told the story of how prohibition started up to the the current War on Drugs and how it is causing havoc for pain patients and the doctors who are trying to help them.

He urges for addiction and chronic pain treatment to be returned back to the medical system. Currently those with the horrible disease of addiction are treated like lepers and have no place to go. Dr. Kline advocates for medically assisted addiction treatment which proves successful in most cases – and the government doesn’t have to or need to get involved.

We talked about the almost religious nature of how the anti-opioid folks are going after doctors and patients. Dr. Kline explained that its much like the Salem Witch Trials which were more wide spread than you think.

He also spoke about why we have the separation of Church and state in this country. Back in the Pilgrim days there were religious courts that could and did kill people for not conforming to social norms. This has direct implications for how the opioid crisis is being prosecuted.

We also touched on how the chronic pain patients in America are being treated and how it’s analogous to how no one wanted to help people with AIDS back in the 80’s. I’ve personally had doctors refuse to “take ownership” of certain health issues I have because it would have compelled them to be responsible for relieving my pain. Which most doctors would rather not deal with patients with pain.

Dr. Kline did advocate for ending drug prohibition but honestly added he doesn’t have all the answers. We discussed briefly Portugal and Switzerland’s take on ending the War on Drugs. He did ask the audience to send him suggestions about how we can start eliminating the destructive War on Drugs.

If you too have an idea please reach out to Dr. Kline on Twitter: @ThomasKlineMD

Overall Dr. Kline believes as I do, that education and presenting the facts persistently are the only ways to change the minds of the public and the politicians.

He even advocates the truthful teaching of teenagers -about opioids in high school and explaining that if they feel or see someone experiencing insane amounts of euphoria from taking opioids, very likely they could be addicted and they’d know to get immediate medical help.

He also talked about we could save almost all the people who overdosed on opioids by medically managing addiction, removing the criminal justice system from the practice of medicine, ending the War on Drugs, educating people on the dangers of mixing drugs, and by teaching those in the addiction community how to resuscitate one of their own, with a simple $20 device that could help their friend breathe and stay alive, in case of an overdose.

Finally we touched on the FDA July 9th meeting – in which Dr. Kline will be in the audience attending. The meeting is the first time since the most recent opioid hysteria swept the nation that the FDA is actually going to talk to the people most affected by the new medical inquisition that has caused wide spread damage to individuals in pain, as well as to the doctor patient relationship.

I you are a pain patient please leave your comment on the FDA website. They are taking comments until Sept 9th 2018. By law they have to read those comments and enter them into the official record.

Here you can make your voice heard. Currently there are only 851 comments. Let’s get they to 1000 by tomorrow.

At one point everyone has experienced terrible physical pain. Now think if that pain never went away. That’s what living with chronic pain is all about. And those in pain should have access to the safest, most effective pain relieving substances known to man – opioids.

Thanks to Dr. Kline for the informative and enjoyable conversation.

Please share this post to all those that you know who are suffering in pain and can’t get help or if you suffer from chronic pain as well. Dr. Kline is a shining beacon of compassion in the darkness of despair, that is the current atmosphere of the opioid hysteria.

Thanks for reading and listening,

My Comment to the FDA regarding opioid hysteria

The FDA is having a meeting on July 9th to finally talk with individuals who have chronic pain and who are being tortured because of the current climate of opioidphobia.

If you have experience being treated as a liability to your doctor, if you’ve been treated like an addict, if you’ve been treated like a criminal for simply asking for your pain to be relieved, you can share your story here:

Tell the FDA how the opioid hysteria has affected your life and those that love you

Here is my comment:

I did not lose my Consititional Rights because I have Chronic pain and seek relief from it. The entire pain clinic and pain contract racket is a violation of at least four amendments to the Constitution, along with violating its philosophical foundations of individual inalienable natural rights.

I’ve been living in life destroying pain for over 30 years. It started with Ulcerative Colitis at the age of 11. I had my first of many surgeries at age 12 and it didn’t go well. Since then I’ve had 20 surgeries, 50 bowel obstructions and 60 hospital stays . I have a permanent ileostomy and a “hostile belly” according to my surgeon. That effectively means I can’t have any more abdominal surgeries, even though I have a painful fistula, possible Crohn’s disease and tons of painful adhesions.

I’ve been on pain medicine almost all my life. Over my thirty plus years of being in pain, I’ve seen personally how individuals with pain are treated. I’ve been dismissed by doctors, I’ve been treated like an addict and I’ve been treated like a criminal for simply wanting my pain to be relieved.

I can’t change the fact that I have incurable conditions which cause me constant pain.

I’ve been habituated physically over the decades but I’ve never addicted to pain medicine. When I was cut off by my GP recently I’m thankful I found Kratom. This safe plant helped me to almost completely stop any physical withdrawal symptoms as well as help with my pain.

Being denied pain medicine has made my life extremely difficult.

When my GP cut me off after three years of chronic pain treatment he referred me to a pain clinic. They wouldn’t help me because they didn’t take self pay patients or GI related pain cases. I called ten pain clinics and only two said that they might help me. But it would cost me $400-$600 to find out. Then if they did see me, I’d have to return each month and be drug tested like a parolee and charged an additional $150.

I never asked for Ulceratice Colitis, I never asked for my first surgery to fail, I never asked to be hospitalized 60 times, I never asked to be in constant pain and I sure as hell never asked to have my government torture me.

Individuals have sovereignty over their minds and bodies. This is the philosophical foundation of the Bill of Rights.

The monthly drug testing requirements violates the 4th amendment. With mandatory monthly drug testing it destroys my god-given right to privacy. Just because I ingest a substance to help me live with less pain, doesn’t mean I’m no longer covered by the Constitution. And just because I have pain and want to have it eased doesn’t mean I’ve lost my inalienable natural rights.

The prescription requirements also violate the First Amendment. It does so because I have the right to think and feel how I choose and if I choose to improve how I feel and think by taking pain medicine, that is my choice.

No doctor or government has the right to infringe upon my ability to choose what I consume.

This also means I’m responsible for my choices, that is how freedom works. Responsibility is the flip side of freedom. I’m perfectly willing to take the responsibility for my health out of the hands of the government. I’d be glad to sign that contract any day of the week.

To me the entire opioid hysteria was a money grab by certain industries as well as an attempt at increasing the power and prestige of the DEA and FDA.

The addiction industry, the drug testing industry, the pain clinic industry, and the pharmaceutical industry have all won big time with the current opioid crisis. So has the DEA and FDA. These agencies have lost so much credibility over lying to the public about the dangers and medicinal properties of cannabis, they were desperate to remain relevant and grow their regulatory apparatus.

Government grows by taking power away from individuals and helps the few profit at the expense of the many. The opioid crisis is a perfect example of government sponsored Criminal Capitalism. Lobbyists, the media and certain industries work together with regulatory agencies, to gin up public fervor over an issue with only one aim – to loosen the taxpayer pocket book to pay those who claim to have solutions.

It’s criminal to profit from the misery of others that you cause. That is exactly what the government and those industries profiting from the further infringement of the rights of individuals have done.

We should also note that the pendulum will never swing back in favor of individual rights if the government and big business have their way. Instead, the solution that will be offered by the FDA to the current torture of chronic pain patients, is to tweak the system, not to respect the individual god-given rights of people in pain.

Those in power will never give up power and stop violating the rights of individuals unless those who believe in compassion, common sense and the Constitution insist otherwise.

Brad Miller

Wishing you health and happiness

My response to the FDA, CDC, and DEA’s attempt to limit pain medicine

Pain is the problem not the pills. I’ve been in chronic pain for 30 years , since the age of 11. I’ve had over twenty surgeries, 100 small bowel obstructions, pancreatitis and most recently kidney stones. I’ve experienced horrific amounts of pain in my life and In addition I have terrible chronic pain everyday from the myriad of adhesions from all those surgeries that are constantly pulling and tearing away at my abdominal wall and internal organs. My life has been dominated by pain. Opioid based pain medicine Is the only tool I have found that makes life bearable. I know that when I do not have adequate pain relief I’m unable to socialize, unable to work, and unable to function as a human being.

Physical pain destroys a person. Opioid pain medicine is a god sent for tens of millions of people. I know I wouldn’t be alive today without it. I have zero quality of life if I’m unable to obtain pain medicine. Please don’t add more physical suffering on top of what I’m already enduring by making prescription opioids more difficult to obtain. We have enough laws on the books. In fact the draconian drug laws and the flawed DEA unscientific scheduling system are the biggest impediments to alleviating and ameliorating physical and emotional suffering as well as helping to end the overdose crisis.

If the concern is to help people who are addicted to opioids, specifically heroin, then modeling what Switzerland and Portugal are doing is the logical and compassionate approach. These two governments have had amazing success with decriminalization and helping people who are addicted to improve their lives instead of destoying them. In the US the current drug enforcement scheme destroys the lives of those addicted by throwing them in prison or forcing them to the black market which can end up killing them. The current opioid death toll is really a heroin laced with illegal fentanyl problem. Switzerland and Portugal do not have the opioid death toll we have in the US because they don’t follow the US model of drug enforcement.

Please review what these two countries have done in regards to so called illegal drugs. I’m dependent on opioids just like a diabetic is dependent on insulin. For those truly addicted to heroin the Swiss government has been providing free legal heroin in a supervised medical setting along with helping these people get housing and work opportunities. This has produced a significant drop in addiction rates and more importantly zero people have died from overdose in the legal supervised heroin program. If this program was instituted in America today we coulld immediately start saving lives. I think we can all agree that we want to stop people from dying from heroin overdose and this is the way to do it and not by passing more and more rules limiting how much pain medicine a person in pain can have.

Further limiting the amount of pain medicine on the market and making doctors scared to prescribe them is hurting millions of people who are already suffering in terrible physical pain. I myself am terrified that one day a doctor will decide I can’t have this life saving medication because of Rules that people in my government have made. What we need is more compassion not more rules. Those addicted and those in pain shouldn’t be afraid that their government will inflict more pain and misery on them. Medicine’s first task is to relieve suffering. Allow doctors to perform their sworn duty.

I also believe this is above all an issue of personal liberty. Adults have the innate right to ingest what they choose and to bear the consequences of those choices. The War on Drugs has unfortunately eliminated many powerful tools that individuals could use to help amelierate their physical and emotional suffering. Cannabis, MDMA, psylocibin and ibogaine are just a few of the banned substances that have shown tremendous efficacy in treating everything from PTSD to addiction. Free up these powerful pharmacological tools and allow adults the full range of choices to improve their health and wellbeing.

Pain is the problem not the substances that relieve pain. There iis so much suffering in this world. Don’t add to it by passing these rules. Seek to help not to harm by looking at the root cause of the problem which is really physical and emotional pain and how best indiciduals and society can ameliorate that suffering. Opioid pain medicineI has proven safe and effective for hundreds of millions of people and has been used for thousands of years. For that 1-3% who do get addicted the Swiss and Portugal model is the way to help them. Those addicted can be helped and saved from overdosing without the need to rescerict access to pain medicine for people who suffer chronic pain.

Medicinal Freedom

I believe that every individual has the right to consume what they choose to and to also bear the consequences of those choices.

Medicinal Freedom is simply the ability to exercise this natural innate right without restriction from the government.

In the near future I believe that we will have true Medicinal Freedom. This means that every individual can buy any and every type of synthetic or natural medicine they choose.

Adults will be able to buy any type of medicine they choose and they will also be able to grow their own. This freedom will allow individuals to treat their symptoms and to ease their suffering for a fraction of the cost they can now and with even more natural and effective options. Anyone will be able to create their own medicinal garden or backyard pharmacy.

Think of a backyard pharmacy in which you have different strains of Cannabis that have the mix of cannabinoids specific to treat your symptoms. Cannabinoids such as CBD, CBN, and of course THC have been proven to help treat the symptoms of diseases ranging from Migraines to Epilepsy and even in helping to treat cancer.

Along with Cannabis you could grow a medicinal mushroom patch which would include species that can lower cholesterol, help treat cancer, boost your immune system and help to enhance your mental wellbeing. In addition to mushrooms and cannabis many people would choose to grow poppy plants as well.

For thousands of years humans have used the milk of the poppy to ease physical suffering. With a garden full of poppy plants those with pain will no longer have to suffer and be without adequate relief. And that adequate relief will be defined by the individual not by some suit at the DEA, CDC or FDA or by an ignorant authoritarian grandstanding politician.

In addition to being able to grow our own backyard pharmacy, in an atmosphere of Medicinal Freedom, pharmaceutical companies will no longer be able to hide behind the power of government. They will have to produce much more affordable safer and effective drugs because they will be selling directly to the consumer. Currently they enjoy a diffusion of responsibility because of the FDA, DEA, and the prescription restriction racket.

In this new atmosphere of freedom and responsibility Drug companies will have to compete with safe and effective medicines that individuals can grow at home. Further competition will come from new startups that focus on harnessing the power of nature to cure, treat and prevent diseases. These new market forces will cause drug companies to change what products they produce as well as how they sell them.

I can envision a future in which Pfizer and Merk will open their own retail locations. They could even have doctors in their stores to offer free health consultations and even free blood tests. This would be an effort to keep consumers in their product ecosystem. Other drug companies who don’t have a direct retail presence will choose to sell their offerings at places like Walmart or even through Amazon, all without the requirement of a prescription.

Drug safety in this environment would actually increase. Right now the FDA protects drug companies by allowing them to sell certain products that kill and maim millions of people. The corrupt prescription and patent system allow them to rake in Billions in profits which they are then able to use a small portion of to settle the lawsuits with people damaged by their inherently dangerous products.

Without the shield of the FDA drug companies will be no different than any other company in America. They will have to produce a safe product or be held responsible.

Third party testing companies will emerge as well to increase safety. Drug companies or natural medicine companies could charge a premium for having their product’s purity and safety verified. Online reviews would also help people make the decision whether to buy a medicine or not. This collective type of wisdom is how humanity determined what was safe to eat or what was effective as medicines for millennia.

When we have true Medicinal Freedom drug safety will be increased, healthcare costs will plummet, new more effective natural medicines will be brought to market, and individuals will be able to grow their own backyard pharmacy. Medicinal Freedom is the answer to fixing healthcare in America.
